There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the border from nearby Thailand, where casino wagering is not legal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. The Naga, a moored barge gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machines and sixty table games. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel complex that contains many amenities aside from the casino, which offers ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and eighty eight tables.
